General Motors is scheduled to release its third-quarter earnings before the opening bell on Tuesday. The automaker's performance will be measured against average estimates compiled by LSEG, which project relatively flat revenue compared to the same period last year and an approximate 30% increase in adjusted earnings per share.

For the third quarter of 2025, General Motors reported $48.59 billion in revenue, net income attributable to stockholders of $1.3 billion, and adjusted earnings per share of $2.80. Investors are focused on whether the company will raise its 2026 guidance during the announcement, particularly as Wall Street anticipates a challenging year for the U.S. automotive industry.

Rajat Gupta, a JPMorgan analyst, noted in an investor memo dated Oct. 11 that while third-quarter results for 2026 are expected to be in line or slightly better, investor attention will likely shift to 2027 revisions rather than immediate upside from the current report. Analysts remain divided on whether General Motors will elevate its guidance on Tuesday, given ongoing concerns regarding slowing sales and rising commodity costs.

When reporting its second-quarter results, General Motors raised its 2026 forecast to include adjusted earnings before interest and taxes between $14 billion and $16 billion, or adjusted earnings per share of $12 and $14. The company's forecast for adjusted automotive free cash flow stands between $9.5 billion and $11.5 billion.

Beyond financial figures and guidance updates, market participants are monitoring progress on the launch of redesigned full-size pickup trucks, improvements to vehicle warranties, and any notable growth in General Motors' software and service operations.
