Six desks, reporting one connected ocean
From king tides off Malé to maritime accords in Colombo — here is the full breadth of what NewsMV covers, who covers it, and the standards every desk works to.
What each beat covers
Four bureaus around one ocean
The desks above are powered by reporters on the ground — not a wire feed. Here is where our datelines come from.

The standards behind every desk
We file from the place
Every desk has at least one reporter who lives on the beat. Climate & Ocean stories carry coordinates. Political stories carry the question we asked and the answer we got.
Two languages, one standard
Every major piece is edited in Dhivehi and English to the same standard. Translation is a first-class part of the workflow, not an afterthought bolted on at the end.
Sources before scoops
We name sources where we can and explain why we can't where we can't. Anonymous quotes get the same scrutiny inside the room as on the page.
Corrections in public
If we got it wrong, the correction lives at the top of the story with a timestamp. The original line stays visible, struck through. Trust is a ledger, not a vibe.
