The October Nasdaq debut of Evernorth Holdings, the largest publicly traded XRP treasury company, has not generated the expected price lift for the cryptocurrency. XRP continues to underperform, trading at $1.31 and down 28% year to date, despite the new public listing intended to serve as a market catalyst.
Investors had previously looked to the passage of the Clarity Act in September to turn the market around, but that legislative effort is now on hold after failing to clear the U.S. Senate. With both the legislative and recent corporate developments failing to drive value, market participants are constructing a new timeline for a potential rally that relies less on immediate listing effects and more on sustained institutional adoption.
Evernorth holds 473 million XRP tokens, valued at an estimated $648 million at current prices. The company’s strategy distinguishes it from other digital asset treasury firms by prioritizing active deployment of its holdings rather than passive accumulation. The first phase involves partnerships with Coinbase Global and Kraken to facilitate institutional use of XRP by banks and financial institutions, a move designed to increase token demand over time.
Following these exchange partnerships, Evernorth plans to introduce credit and lending products that allow retail investors to use XRP as collateral for loans. This approach mirrors existing Bitcoin lending services offered by Coinbase. The company aims to leverage its relationship with Ripple, the developer behind the XRP token, which is led by a former Ripple senior payments executive, to support these new use cases.
Market analysts suggest that a significant appreciation in XRP’s value could begin in mid-2027. This projected timeline accounts for the expected increase in regulatory clarity and the conclusion of U.S. midterm elections, which may remove political uncertainty from the digital asset landscape.
Standard Chartered set a price target of $7 for XRP by the end of next year, a level that remains distant from the current trading price. The bank further forecasts that XRP could reach $12.50 in 2028. These projections imply a potential breakout above the $10 threshold sometime in 2028, though such outcomes depend on the successful execution of Evernorth’s strategic initiatives and broader market conditions.
The gap between current performance and these targets highlights the volatility inherent in XRP investments. The token reached a high of $3.65 last year before declining to its current level. Investors are advised to maintain measured expectations given the asset’s history of fluctuating performance relative to market catalysts.
