Lawler Predicts Midterm Rejection of Socialist Surge as Far-Left Primary Wins Mount

Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., predicted Saturday that American voters will deliver a decisive November rebuke to far-left candidates after a string of Democratic socialist primary victories rattled Republicans heading into the midterm elections.

Appearing on "Fox & Friends Weekend," Lawler framed the contest as a referendum on what he called the rising "politics of envy and jealousy" — and said he expects voters to reject it soundly.

Socialist Primary Wins Set the Stage Lawler acknowledged that Democratic socialist candidates have claimed several primary victories in recent months, including in his home state of New York, but argued those results do not reflect the broader electorate.

He contended that the wins, combined with what he described as anti-American sentiments, are "desecrating" the vision of the Founding Fathers at the moment the country marks its 250th anniversary of independence.
