Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv is prepared to sign guarantees supporting the U.S.-brokered energy ceasefire, provided Russia agrees to the same terms. Speaking in a live-streamed address on Monday morning, Zelenskyy emphasized that if the United States requires these assurances to ensure trust, Ukraine is ready to execute them. He added that it is important for all parties to view the situation consistently.
This position follows a warning issued by Zelenskyy that Moscow must also commit to the energy ceasefire announced by U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday. Zelenskyy asserted that if Russia does not agree to the ceasefire, Ukraine will respond. The diplomatic development comes amid continued military pressure, as Zelenskyy noted on Sunday evening local time that Ukrainian skies had been infested with Russian Shahed drones throughout the day.
