Jon Newhard will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer at Verra Mobility Corporation (NASDAQ: VRRM) starting November 1, 2026. The announcement, made on October 2, 2026, follows a comprehensive search led by the Board with the support of executive search firm Spencer Stuart.
Patrick Byrne, Chairman of the Board, cited Newhard’s seasoned executive experience and track record of improving financial performance as key factors in the decision. Byrne described Newhard’s background in scaling established businesses during periods of transformation as ideal for the company's current phase. The Chairman added that the Board looks forward to partnering with Newhard to address evolving smart mobility needs and drive shareholder value.
Newhard brings more than two decades of experience in the transportation and mobility sector. His most recent role was as Chief Executive Officer of Yunex Traffic GmbH, a global provider of intelligent transportation systems. Newhard previously served as Chairman of Miovision and held a board seat at Synapse ITS.
Newhard succeeded Jon Keyser, who served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer since June 2026. Keyser and the Board mutually agreed that he will remain with Verra Mobility in an advisory capacity to support the transition before departing to pursue other opportunities. Keyser stated that he is proud of the progress made during his interim tenure, which focused on stabilizing the business and simplifying the organizational structure. He expressed confidence that the company is well-positioned to pursue future opportunities.
