Two semiconductor leveraged ETFs, SOXS and SOXL, recorded trading volumes that were almost double their recent averages during the most recent session, according to Zacks Investment Research. While the broader market saw tech and AI-linked stocks rebound, lifting the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices, these specific funds drew attention due to the heightened trading interest. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped in contrast to the broader gains, with the DIA ETF rising 0.1%, while SPY and QQQ increased by 0.7% and 1.5% respectively.

The SOXS ETF, which focuses on semiconductor stocks, moved approximately 75.57 million shares in the last trading session. This volume figure is about 1.53 times the fund's average of roughly 50 million shares. During this period of elevated activity, SOXS dropped by about 7.8%. Despite the recent decline, the fund is up 31.9% over the past month.

Meanwhile, the SOXL ETF saw around 94.60 million shares change hands, a volume level that is 1.48 times its daily average of 64 million shares. In contrast to SOXS, SOXL rose 8.2% in the last session. Over the past month, however, SOXL has lost 30.5%. Zacks Investment Research notes that these volume spikes make both ETFs worth watching in the coming days to determine if the heightened interest persists.
