Koe Wetzel posted a photo on Instagram Wednesday showing himself with a large bull elk, using a compound bow for the harvest. The Texas-born singer captioned the image "Oklahoma Breakdown," though it remains unclear if he was indicating the hunt's location or referencing a song by Stoney LaRue.

The post highlights a busy hunting season for several prominent country music artists. Luke Combs, Riley Green, Parker McCollum and Sam Barber have all participated in recent hunts. Chris Janson recently discussed his own elk-hunting trip in Colorado with OutKick OutDoors. Wetzel's latest addition to the group's autumn activities follows a series of music-related photos he shared the previous day, which he captioned "Posted from a remote area hunting elk."

Wetzel has long prioritized hunting during the cooler months. During a June appearance on the "Country Outdoors" podcast, he told listeners not to call him between October and February because he would likely not respond well. The 34-year-old artist grew up in East Texas, where he began hunting at a young age. In a 2024 interview with Hook & Barrel, Wetzel stated that he received his first bow at age 8 and continues to practice archery year-round, sometimes bringing his equipment on tour.

This is not Wetzel's first significant elk harvest. He previously took a large bull in New Mexico with a rifle shot from more than 540 yards. In a 2025 appearance on "Country Outdoors," he discussed taking a bull elk measuring more than 380 inches. It is unclear if these were the same animal, but his history demonstrates extensive experience with big game. The current Instagram post does not provide the score for the new bull or specific details about the hunt.
