Yemen's Houthis launched two missiles at Aden airport, triggering a broader wave of attacks that Saudi-led forces have moved to intercept. The military response included downing drones near Riyadh and missiles over the Red Sea, one of which was aimed at Yanbu.

The conflict has escalated to the point of threatening key oil-export routes, including the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. This disruption has pushed Brent crude prices above $110 a barrel. The fighting is also disrupting security and business activities in Saudi Arabia, leading to the postponement of major events such as the Six Kings Slam tennis tournament and an EU summit.

With attacks now targeting airports, oil infrastructure, and shipping lanes, the United States is weighing whether to become directly involved in the Saudi-backed military operations.
