Democratic Senate candidates raised significantly more than their Republican opponents in the third quarter of 2025, according to Federal Election Commission filings and campaign reports analyzed by Axios. The disparity was most pronounced in Texas, where Democratic nominee James Talarico raised $64 million, compared to $18 million for Republican candidate Ken Paxton.

The fundraising gap extended across multiple competitive states. In Georgia, Senator Jon Ossoff raised $33.1 million, while his opponent Mike Collins raised $2.8 million. Michigan’s Abdul El-Sayed raised $30.7 million, outpacing former Representative Mike Rogers, who raised $9.7 million. In Ohio, former Senator Sherrod Brown raised $23 million against Senator Jon Husted’s $5 million.

Other races showed similar trends. Maine’s Troy Jackson raised $20.4 million, compared to $5.2 million for Senator Susan Collins. Alaska’s former Representative Mary Peltola raised $17 million, while Senator Dan Sullivan raised $2 million. Iowa’s Josh Turek raised $12 million against Representative Ashley Hinson’s $3 million. North Carolina’s Roy Cooper raised $20 million, outraising Michael Whatley’s $2 million. In Kansas, Adam Hamilton raised $11 million, compared to $800,000 for Senator Roger Marshall.

Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) described Talarico’s haul as "mind-blowing" when informed of the figures. The data reflects FEC filings and campaign-reported totals, some of which include money raised through affiliated joint fundraising committees. Even accounting for these differences, Democratic candidates dramatically outraised their Republican opponents in several key races.
