Clearway Energy reported that wind and solar resource observations for the third quarter of 2026 were in line with the company's updated financial guidance, which was issued alongside its second-quarter results on August 5, 2026. The revised guidance incorporated the strong El Niño Southern Oscillation pattern observed this year. The company's Performance Index for the period remained consistent with quarterly capacity factor expectations within the range disclosed in the sensitivity appendix of its second-quarter earnings presentation.

Wind compensable generation for the third quarter of 2026 met expectations, supported by favorable wind resources across much of the United States and liquidated damages paid by third-party original equipment manufacturers. These positive factors were partially offset by minor variances driven by availability issues in the Midwest Wind segment. In contrast, solar resource in the Western United States was slightly below the P-50 forecast. The company noted that plant availability in the Solar and Flexible Generation segments remained high at 97% and 94%, respectively, during the quarter.

Wind segment availability reflected improvement campaigns focused on high-value assets in the California Independent System Operator and Texas regions. Availability in the Midwest and East Wind segments was influenced by small projects utilizing discontinued wind OEM technology, which are currently being addressed through an active improvement campaign. The company's operating data excludes equity method investment projects, including San Juan Mesa, Elkhorn Ridge, Avenal, Desert Sunlight, and the Cardinal Fengate joint venture.

According to the operating data preview released on October 20, 2026, total wind net capacity stood at 3,569 MW, while total solar net capacity was 3,249 MW. Total wind compensable generation for the year to date reached 8,680 GWh, and total solar compensable generation reached 9,248 GWh. The year-to-date Performance Index for total wind was 95%, while total solar recorded a Performance Index of 95%. The company stated that these forward-looking statements are subject to risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from those contemplated.
