Balchem Corporation (NASDAQ: BCPC) reported record consolidated quarterly net sales, net earnings, and adjusted EBITDA for the third quarter of 2026, marking a period of healthy growth across all three of its reporting segments. The Montvale, New Jersey-based company disclosed these results on October 23, 2026, for the fiscal period ended September 30, 2026.
For the quarter, Balchem generated net sales of $290.7 million, an 8.6% increase from the prior year quarter. GAAP net earnings rose 16.0% to $46.7 million, while adjusted EBITDA climbed 12.4% to $80.3 million. Diluted GAAP earnings per share reached $1.46, up from $1.24 in the comparable period of 2025, and adjusted earnings per share increased to $1.57 from $1.35. The company also reported cash flows from operations of $69.8 million and free cash flow of $57.9 million.
The Human Nutrition and Health segment led performance with record quarterly sales of $188.2 million, up 8.1% year over year. This growth was driven by higher sales in both the nutrients business and the food ingredients and solutions businesses. Segment earnings from operations hit a record $45.6 million, an 11.8% increase, aided by higher sales and favorable mix despite higher operating expenses.
The Animal Nutrition and Health segment saw quarterly sales rise 11.7% to $63.0 million, driven by increased demand in both monogastric and ruminant species markets. Earnings from operations for this segment surged 82.8% to $6.8 million, primarily due to higher sales and favorable mix, which offset certain higher manufacturing input costs.
In the Specialty Products segment, quarterly sales increased 4.5% to $37.3 million due to higher sales in the performance gases business. Earnings from operations rose 6.6% to $12.3 million, supported by higher sales and favorable mix, partially offset by increased operating expenses.
Consolidated gross margin expanded to 36.4% of sales from 35.7% in the prior year period, a 70-basis-point increase attributed to sales growth, favorable mix, and manufacturing efficiencies. Ted Harris, Chairman, President and CEO of Balchem, stated that the company delivered another excellent quarter with healthy growth across all segments.
Balchem repurchased approximately $28 million of common stock during the third quarter and about $127 million over the trailing twelve months. As of September 30, 2026, the company held a cash balance of $66.3 million within its net working capital of $240.8 million. Outstanding debt on its revolving loan stood at $124.0 million, resulting in net debt of $57.7 million.
