AppTech Payments Corporation, trading as APCX, disclosed a strategic pivot through a letter to shareholders, stating its intent to become a leading payments infrastructure technology company. The company reported that the acquisition of Infinitus Pay in October 2025 provided the technical framework necessary to build a scalable payments platform, a move the interim chief executive officer described as fundamental to the business transformation. AppTech now serves more than forty fintechs and businesses, processing billions of dollars in annualized payment volume across wire transfers, SWIFT, ACH, and stablecoin-enabled settlement.
The company is consolidating its offerings onto a single platform to reduce costs and improve scalability. Development for this unified codebase began in mid-July 2026, and management stated it is on track to launch before the end of the year. The new platform is designed to provide clients with a single point of connection and incorporate artificial intelligence-enabled capabilities. By concentrating engineering efforts on one codebase, AppTech aims to accelerate customer onboarding, improve operational efficiencies, and support stronger long-term margins.
Compliance controls are being embedded directly into the new infrastructure to protect banking partners and customers. The platform will integrate transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, fraud detection, and financial-crime risk management capabilities. Nick Saponaro, who serves as Interim Chief Technology Officer, is leading the platform initiative alongside a revamped engineering team. Saponaro brings experience from building compliance-focused digital-asset infrastructure, including leadership roles at a licensed global exchange.
AppTech has identified four growth initiatives for the coming year, starting with credit card issuance. The company added an experienced banking executive to secure partnerships and navigate regulatory requirements for this program. Subject to execution and regulatory approvals, management expects the card program to begin generating revenue in late 2027. Other initiatives include digital asset conversions between digital assets and U.S. dollars, a bank yield program focused on larger average daily deposit balances, and compliance-as-a-service offerings for businesses lacking internal financial-crime control resources.
The letter acknowledged that growth may slow or decrease during the second half of 2026 as the company focuses on execution. Management cited specific actions driving this near-term outlook, including resolving a banking partner matter disclosed in prior filings, building critical infrastructure, winding down Finzeo, and correcting deficiencies in the merchant processing business. These efforts are intended to reduce operational risk and position the company for more sustainable growth. AppTech stated it will evaluate new customer opportunities based on both customer needs and long-term economics, potentially delaying some onboardings until the new platform is complete to capture greater value.
