Apple has revealed the second-generation HomePod Mini, introducing a pink model and a green model to the product lineup. The new speaker also features a modified blue colorway, while the original black and white options remain available.
Internally, the HomePod Mini 2 is equipped with an upgraded S10 chip designed to power Siri AI. Apple states that support for these new AI features will roll out through a future software update rather than being available at launch. The device also introduces a sound glow feature that synchronizes the speaker's LED lights with the colors of a song's album art. Additionally, the HomePod Mini 2 can function as the default speaker for a Mac computer.
Physically, the second-generation device is nearly identical to its predecessor, with the primary visual distinction being the updated color palette. The Verge reported on these design and hardware changes following a close-up look at the new smart speaker.
