Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson remained in the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's Game 2 loss to the Indiana Fever after stepping into the spectator area to confront a fan, an action the league rulebook explicitly defines as grounds for automatic ejection.
The incident took place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where Wilson had just drawn a blocking foul after Indiana Fever forward Sophie Cunningham stepped in front of her and fell to the court.
Following the call, Wilson was observed yelling and pointing at a fan seated a few rows from courtside before taking steps across the baseline into the stands.
Crew chief Randy Richardson addressed the decision in a post-game interview, stating that Wilson was assessed a technical foul for unsportsmanlike conduct.
