Spot $BTC and $ETH trading for institutional clients is now live in the United Arab Emirates through Standard Chartered ($STAN), making it the first global systemically important bank to offer the service in the country.
The Thursday announcement follows the bank's UK launch in July 2025, when Standard Chartered became the first G-SIB globally to offer deliverable spot crypto to institutions.
UAE clients can settle through a custodian of their choosing, including Standard Chartered's own custody platform, which has been operational in the country since September 2024.
How the service runs Access runs through Standard Chartered's existing electronic trading infrastructure.
