The Earl Charles Spencer has rejected Buckingham Palace's dismissal of his memoir claims, labeling the royal household's response as gaslighting.
The confrontation follows the publication of excerpts from his book, "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister," which detail a disputed phone call with King Charles III six days after Princess Diana's death in 1997.
The next confirmable milestone is the full release of the memoir on September 22. The Disputed Account Spencer alleges that during the 1997 conversation, the then-Prince of Wales expressed contempt for Diana.
He claims Charles stated, "We'll forget her soon enough!" regarding his ex-wife.
