In focus is a public statement from Ukrainian center Kate Koval, who stepped away from the LSU women's basketball program in August after head coach Kim Mulkey described the exit as stemming from personal reasons.
Koval's account is more specific.
She said she fully intended to return to LSU at the conclusion of last season and resume her collegiate career there, and the decision that changed her thinking arrived in April, several days after the transfer portal had closed.
That decision was the program's signing of 17-year-old Russian center Anna Minaeva.
