Disney, Magic United clash over parental leave and wages in first Disneyland contract talks

Negotiations between Walt Disney Co.

(DIS) and Magic United, an Actors' Equity affiliate representing 1,700 Disneyland Characters and Parades cast members, have stalled on parental leave and wages as both sides push toward a first collective bargaining agreement.

The union, formed after a 2024 organizing vote, says Disney has proposed eliminating paid parental leave and offered a zero percent wage increase in the contract's first year.

Disney contests that characterization and points to a 4% pay increase delivered to the bargaining unit as of December 2025 while talks continue.
