The $100 million acquisition of Tai Software by Descartes Systems Group, funded from cash on hand, brings an AI-powered freight brokerage platform into one of the larger logistics technology networks serving global supply chains.
Tai, a California-based company, built its system around the full freight broker workflow: quoting, carrier sourcing, load execution, billing, and customer engagement within a single platform spanning truckload, less-than-truckload, drayage, and cross-border operations.
Descartes said the purchase price was approximately $100 million with no outside financing cited. No revenue figures or valuation multiples for Tai appeared in the announcement.
Andrew Wimer, Descartes' associate general manager of transportation management, said freight brokers play a critical role in connecting shippers and carriers to execute moves across North America.
