Crypto ETF speed push draws resistance from Jane Street and Charles Schwab

The effort by crypto firms to get the SEC to move faster on cryptocurrency ETF reviews and allow confidential draft filings has opened a clear divide with two firms whose standing in ETF markets gives their objections real weight.

Jane Street and Charles Schwab raised concerns that rushing reviews increases the risk of launching products before they are ready, and that confidential filings would reduce the scrutiny the current public process provides.

The ask from the crypto side runs in two directions. The first is speed: crypto firms want the Securities and Exchange Commission to accelerate how it processes ETF applications.

The second is discretion, the option to file draft documents confidentially before those filings become publicly visible.
