In focus: Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO), the eighth-largest company in the world at a $1.9 trillion market cap, and the gap between that figure and the $3 trillion level Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) currently holds at $3.5 trillion.
For the recently concluded fiscal third quarter, Broadcom expects revenue of $29.4 billion, an 84% year-over-year gain, with AI revenue estimated at $16 billion, a more than 200% increase from a year ago.
The next confirmable data point is the Q3 earnings release, where the first read on that $16 billion AI revenue estimate becomes available.
Broadcom shares have gained 28% over the past year; Microsoft stock has fallen 7% over the same period.
