The base iPhone 18, successor to the iPhone 17, won't reach shelves this fall.
Apple ($AAPL) revealed the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max alongside a new foldable called the iPhone Duo at its "surprise and shine" event, leaving the standard model off the stage entirely.
Both Pro versions carry a $100 price increase over last year's equivalents, and without a base model in the lineup, Apple's fall iPhone refresh has no lower price anchor.
Pre-event rumors had flagged the outcome: premium iPhones on the fall schedule, the base model slipping to a spring launch.
