$ADI is in focus after Analog Devices reached an agreement to acquire California-based Alif Semiconductor in a $1.35bn all-cash transaction, adding an AI-native microcontroller and fusion-processor platform to its portfolio.
The deal carries a potential earn-out of up to $200m tied to conditions the company has not disclosed. Pending Hart-Scott-Rodino review and customary regulatory approvals, the two sides expect to close by year-end 2026.
The numbers The $1.35bn headline sits below the $1.5bn Analog Devices paid to acquire Empower Semiconductor, a deal announced in May and completed in July 2026.
Taken together, the two transactions sketch a directed build toward a combined analog-digital, AI-hardware stack.
