Accrual's agreement to acquire the accounting firm business and technology assets of Puzzle puts the company's push into client accounting services in focus.
The deal covers Puzzle's AI-native general ledger and month-end close software. No financial terms were disclosed, and the transaction is expected to close in the coming weeks.
Puzzle, founded by Sasha Orloff, built a customer base exceeding 7,000 startups, small enterprises, and accounting practices around a workspace that includes its ledger, AI Close, Cowork, and Chat tools.
Accrual has been running its own internal finances on Puzzle's platform, giving it operational familiarity with the product before the acquisition. Orloff and members of the Puzzle team will join Accrual at close.
